Default Push out blackberry OS upgrades OTA through handheld manager?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been tinkering around on our BES server, and apparantly some of our users using an old OS on their 7100g phones cannot update the DST patch (we're having them update manually since we don't really have a BES admin...I'm just 'the blackberry guy' and I'm learning this bit by bit.

I've applied the DST update to about 5 phones OTA, and i'm still not sure if they went through sucessfully. But that's besides the point.

I was just wondering if it's possible to push out a new OS to some phones OTA.

Nope. You need to push the Handheld update to thier PC as some type of distribution. Then you can have a policy that requires them to upgrade when they plug in the devices. But you can't OTA it.

Yup. When we converted to Exchange 2003, I needed to upgrade about 400 devices from 3.x to 4.0.2. That was a blast!
