Calendar Syncing/Calendar Invites between Blackberries
Please Login to Remove!
Here's my setup:
Wife's Blackberry = 8700
personal device
My blackberry = 8310
business device, BES server
I wanted to send my calendar appts that affected the family (being out of town, late, etc) to my wife, and have her send appts that affected me (doctors appts with the kids, etc)
After much research, seems the only way was to set her up on a BESX server however I spend alot of time managing this server (exchange, windows 2003, BESX, domain, router, firewalls, etc) and would like an easier way...
Has anyone discovered any easier way to send appts to each other? and be able to view them in your Blackberry calendar (without having to have a BES)

If you have 4.2 on the 8700 (if not, upgrade) why not send calendar invites from the blackberrys? Or is that what you've tried?
If you have 4.2 on the 8700 and no calendar invite, re-send service books.

One way sync possible???
I have the same question. I have my BBerry pearl set up on our outlook at home with all of the family appointments. My Husband wants to add our home info to his BBerry 8830, but we don't want his work meetings on our home calendar. Is there a way to only sync one way? (i.e. Outlook to handhled, but not handheld to Outlook).
OP - this is the same as your question right?

aiharkness: when you arent attached to a BES you dont have the "invite attendee" function.
Once activated to a BES, you get the feature... this appears to be the issue.

Not sure if this would work for what you want or not, but what about GoogleSync and inviting each other?

I might have been on an old version before, Didn't notice the version.
I guess the only way I can test it now is to get off the BES and then onto BIS and see if its still there.
Anyone else can confirm that you can "invite attendee" from just BIS??

There are two issues here, possibly. On the 8700, check the OS version. If it is 4.2, then check service books and see if you have the CICAL books assiciated with the BIS email address. If not, than, as I said above, resend service books and you will have them. And you will then have the invite attendee menu item in the calendar. If you have an older OS, updgrade if you can.
The other issue is sending invites from the 8310 on BES to the 8700 and vice versa. I don't see why there should be a problem except maybe for IT policy. But I don't know for sure. I'll defer to others on that score.

You're definately correct, my 8700 with 4.2 software works. It has the invite now field on it.
I removed it from the BESX server, wiped it. Then added a BIS account to it. I can invite people to calendar events. I can also send calendar events to it from another device and sync them.
Who needs a BES!

I misread earlier and didn't understand that you had already put the 8700 on a BES. But (it sounds like) you're in business now?

Ya I had my wife's BBB8700 on a BESX that I configured. But... its a pain in the butt to keep running for one device. A whole computer dedicated, firewall ports, settings, domain, etc...
Thanks for the tip about 4.2...........

How do you do this? I have been trying to email calendar events to my wife's BB (TMO BIS) from my BB (TMO BES) wth no luck. I don't want to invite her, but want her to just have the item (like a vcs item). I cannot figure out how to do that. Same problem with her sending me calendar items.

I am in the process of trying to add an atendee to a cal. event/reminder, but it is using an email account that I do not want to use and it does not give an option to change the email account that is going to send out the reminder from.
I have read a thread, which has been closed, that states the default account, which is my blackberry address, will be used for the cal attendee but this isn't the case and if any of you can lend any advice or insights I'd appreciate it.
Thanks....any ideas?
