Default How to tell if BES is provisioned?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry which I have a feeling is not provisioned for BES.
I've got as far as activating it with the BES over the USB.

I can sync over the local wifi on the same network as the BES but when I turn off the wifi it fails to sync.

Is this a sure sign that the BB is not provisioned for BES?
Thanks

D

Possibly. There is an activation process that takes place for a while after you sync. It can take several minutes. Your screen will show all of the various apps on your BlackBerry and whther they have initialized yet or not, with a total % complete at the top of the screen. have you seen this yet?

Yes I saw this activation complete but it was when I had the Bold connected via USB to the BES box, after assigning the PIN of the device to the user.

Phone your carrier and ask...

Only other way to tell for sure if to lg into the T-Support page of the RIM website, but only if your company has a support package with RIM.

Well as you probably know from my other post/thread I want to avoid doing that if I can.

I've always found there to be an "Mail Settings" (or something similar) icon on the main page which isn't there on BES provisioned devices. This might be thanks to the software being loaded by T-mob, but though it worth a mention.

Hey, sorry Brendan42, but that icon is there when the device is provisioned. It still is on mine, even after BES activation, (the icon is just hidden).
