Blackberry messenger cannot be used AT ALL without a Blackberry Data Plan.
once a blackberry data plan is activated on your account, you can use BBM over wi-fi.

AS MidnightDraven stated, "Blackberry messenger cannot be used AT ALL without a Blackberry Data Plan." So that means "with no blackberry service on my contract", you will NOT be able to use blackberry messenger. No one here can tell you how to do it because it is not possible.
