Default WiFi Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a question with my WiFi. I can sign on to a network but when I go to use the browser or other applications I get an error message stating that there is no data connectivity. Any solutions to this? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the Hotspot browser?

I'm using the blackberry browser. But even when I try to use msn or gmail I get the same error.

Does your Mobile network need to be turned on? I was using the WiFi to avoid paying roaming charges for airtime.

you need to change the borwser from Blackberry to Hotspot
(options - advnaced - browser- default browser)
to use on wi-fi

Mobile network doesnt need to be turned on, but data services does.

i.e. data services on (or apparently set to off when roaming works)
then connect wi-fi.
then uncheck mobile network after the wi-fi icon is white.

FWIW, my Bold 9000 works just fine with WiFi @ home with the browser set to : "Internet Browser." It does not seem to work at wifi hotspots unless set to "Hotspot Browser." I wish I could explain why, but can't.

because thats the way its designed.
You need to use Hotspot to use wi-fi with an access point such as those in cafes hotels etc.

My browser also works fine on Internet browser when at home, but the OP is not at home, hence why I said it.
