I have to say that the browser on this device is actually worse than the 9780. I cannot a simple blog post with the touchscreen to trackpad (not sure where the problem is) accidentally clicking on a link and loading another page. It is extremely frustrating and should be a major embarrassment for RIM.

Overall the keyboard is really great but there are just not advantages of this phone beyond that.

torberry, work on navigating web pages almost entirely with the touch screen. Double tap where you want to zoom and read, double tap again to zoom back out, etc. Don't use the trackpad to click links and buttons, nor to scroll. Touch and drag to scroll, tap on links to open, touch and hold to open menu,.etc.

I agree it is to much trouble trying to navigate with the trackpad, and I encountered same things you mentioned. I think I've actually clicked links when my thumb was hovering over the trackpad and hadn't touched it.

Use the trackpad only when you have to and condition your brain to use the touch screen. That's what I'm doing, at any rate, and it seems to be the intent of the design and design-trade-offs.

It seems to me that the trackpad would work just fine for browsing if it wasn't so slow on to move around the browser screen. It would also help if the area of the screen just over the trackpad, maybe the first 5mm, was inactive for touching while in browser, so that when your thumb slips onto the screen a bit, it doesn't do anything. Lastly, I think the swiping motion of the trackpad should be swapped so that it is consistent with directional swiping on the screen itself.
