Angry Email Problems

Please Login to Remove!

I inherited an blackberry pearl from my boyfriend. I wiped the device of all his old information. when i went to set my email up on the phone, the only option it gives me is "work email account with Blackberry Enterprise Server" or just to skip the process.

My friend says she has another option to "add email", which i do not have. What is going on there?
Thank you all for any help.

Welcome to the BBForums.

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your Tmobile account? If not, call them and add that service, and soon you will get the 'personal email setup' icon.

the add email option is in a diffrent screen, skip the email set up.

on the screen with all the icons you should have one that says "email settings"
this icon will open your browser and point you to a web page that lets you manage your email accounts linked with your BB. you may need to have your BF log in and delete his before it lets you add your own.

This can also be done from a desktop PC, look at blackberryfaq.com or google "t-mobile BIS" (or what ever carrier you use if your info is not current. BIS is the important part )

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

Again, it comes down to whether you have a data plan

I see, I'm not used to people having a blackberry and not having a data plan.

I get a lot of people who don't have the correct data plan to access a BES, but not many who don't have one at all.

I'm having the same issue with one of my users. They have a pearl 8130 and they only have the BES email option. The option for "adding an existing email account" is missing. The phone was a replacement...they should already have the blackberry plan. The os version is 5.0.77?

I fixed the issue. I went to options > advanced options > host routing table ...hit the menu key and selected register now. The user was than asked if the pin changed. Selected yes. Pulled the battery (hard reboot) and the option to add an existing email account was there.
