Default issues with BBIM, backlight, battery charging and white screen of death

Please Login to Remove!

so this thing went all freaky on me on new years eve. there is no wetness or water damage anywhere on the phone, and it seemed to be working fine up until I started experiencing the following issues:

1. in order to send a message over BBIM, I have to pull the battery.
2. in BBIM, where it should say my name, it says "content protection enabled's contact list". I have to change it every five minutes through the "edit my info" option.
3. the backlight is way dim. wayyy dim. I put it up to the maximum and its still dim.
4. the battery only charges to 95%
5. when I make a phone call, it reboots.

I'm pretty sure this phone is a refurb (replacement from t-mo to remedy a bad usb port) and I want to do a fresh install of the OS, however I'm not sure if that will help.

anyone else having these types of problems? Should I just chalk it up to being hell on my phones? as always, any help is greatly appreciated.

OS reinstall may help, but if you received it as a replacement, I wouldn't take the chance of having to deal with the throughout the life of the phone. I'd send her back.

yeah I finally called. the OS reinstall did nothing, and now the red light won't go out on top of all the other issues.

they are sending me a "new kit" with a new battery and charger according to the woman I spoke to (I'm on t-mo). I am not sure if that means they are going to send a whole phone instead of just the front piece like they did with this one.

I'm totally convinced that there is a mark on my account to only send me dead, dying or broken phones just to see if they can make me cry.

Default Don't let em see you cry!!

If you have insurance on the phone demand a new one not a broken down POS refurb!! It could be argued by an attorney that to not supply you with suitable working device is a breach of contract, so maybe you could say that if you dont get a new device on insurance you will consider that contract broken?

could work!

I have insurance and I should still be under warranty from when the first phone broke. I'm going to see what they send me and hope it works. I won't care if its a refurb if it works.

now it made the ball in brickbreaker disappear. and I have 7 lives left! argh.
