Default Folder redirection

Please Login to Remove!

I hope that this is the correct place for this thread. I did a search through the forums and have run out of things to try so I figured I would post to see if it s a BES setting somewhere that I am missing.

Scenario:

Folder redirection is set up on the device and reconciliation has been initiated. Mail is not being redirected to subfolders but staying in and being delivered into the Inbox on the device.

Outlook rules are set up properly and mail makes it to the subfolders on the PC side.

Notes:

Server is running BES 4.1.4.12
Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 Server EE
Blackberry 8820
Registry change - ProcessMailDelay added and set to 10
Folders are all selected in Folder Redirection settings

Any help with solving this would be greatly appreciated.

I believe what you want to check is under:

messages / options / general settings / hide filed messages

if your thinking the Blackberry will mirror the delivery that your Outlook rules are performing - I don't believe that is possible.

I was hoping that it would mirror and thought that it was possible. If I'm outta luck, I'm outta luck. But I really thought that it would redirect to the subfolders and if it doesn't....it dang sure should.

It'll stay in the mailbox until it's read. After it's read, it should dissappear.

It is finally redirecting to the folder, however a copy is still in the inbox as well. Also, if I delete from the inbox, it deletes it from the subfolder as well. It doesn't touch it in the Outlook subfolder though.

Are you sure your Outlook rules are not copying the message to the subfolder?

Forgive me, but this behavior sounds out of place for what you have described so far.

I'm sure. In Outlook, the messages are moved to the subfolder.

I was reading the thread again and I think perhaps you are just seeing it behave as designed.

Mail from Redirected folders does appear in the main Messages list, but should show a folder icon rather than an envelope in most handhelds now.

If you go and view the folder on the handheld, it will appear there as well.

If you are deleting from the handheld but it does not remove from Outlook, then check Email Reconciliation under Options.

If it is your intention to have it delete from both locations, then Delete On should read Mailbox & Handheld.

Be careful to make sure you are looking at the right settings. If the user has any BIS accounts then you will have a line at the top called Message Services. Select Desktop to make changes that would apply to the BES/Exchange mailbox.
