Default facebook v1.7 using wifi

Please Login to Remove!

hello,
I have a 8320 and change countries a lot, and i dont always have a data connection, but i do often have wifi

I am unable to get facebook v1.7.0.22 to run on wifi

any ideas.......

did they write v1.7 only to work on a data plan?

Please any suggestions are greatfully accepted

Do you subscribe to a BlackBerry Data Plan? You'll need that to use the Facebook app.

Yep. It won't work unless you have the plan. There's no way to get around this either. That's usually the next question people ask

I'm not sure if this will work for Facebook. WiFix by Aerize works with some programs and might do what you're looking for. It works for some things like Google Maps Mobile, Blackberry Maps, etc. (which require a data plan)

I haven't tested it myself but I don't believe that it will work since one of the limitations in the program is that it doesn't work with HTTPS/SSL connections and I believe that Facebook uses this.

Facebook is a native RIM application and requires authentication to RIM's network for it to function. You need an active BlackBerry Data Plan in order to connect to RIM's infrastructure.
