I get the following error when trying to list administrators on one of my 4.1.6 installs: permissions prevent the listing of administrators or changing adminstrator association to a newly selected role. In another test install of 4.1.6 I don't get this error and am able to add new admin to different roles.

My sql admins state the following:
1. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account does not have the System Administrators server role.
2. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server has MAPI32.dll version 1.0 installed.
3. The administrator you are trying to add is a local administrator on a computer that is hosting the MSDE or Microsoft SQL Server.
4. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is installed on Windows Server 2003 with Password Complexity turned on.

1) The BBadmin account currently has SA and DBCreator rights on the DB instance
2) Not a SQL issue
3) Bbadmin is not a local admin on the server
4) Password Complexity is not enabled on the server


The mapi32.dll is Exchange version sp2 on my prod and sp1 on my test.

What if anything else could I look at?

Log onto the BES server and give yourself the correct role.

Then try the remote manager.

I tried that with my admin account. I went in to add my AD group that i belong to as enterprise admins but i get that error. I can easily do this on my test install and add my group but something i missed is not right on this production server.

I took a look at the DB roles and I don't see any of the RIM default one's declared: rim_db_admin_enterprise, etc...
None appear in the Roles. I assume that is why i get this error. Is there a way to populate them back?
