Default Unlocked Storm: Doesnt work or pick up network

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

The Storm I received with an unlock code was able to Unlock the device but it wont pick up a network with either T-Mobile or AT&T. I was informed AT&T will not work.

Do I have to change the settings on the phone to use the SIM versus the CDMA or turn off the 3G/?

I also tried a UK roaming chip and it does not work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure that in Manage Connections>Mobile Network Options the setting called Network Technology is set to GSM/UMTS and Network Mode is set to 2G.

There is quite a few steps you need to go through besides turning it on GSM to get it to work on ATT/TMobile. You need to download the ATT/TMobile service books, etc. If you search the forums there are plenty of threads already giving step by step instructions on doing this.
