Damn! I noticed when switching back to BlackBerry from Android that my contacts, set to sync with GMail wirelessly, have been edited.
I have many contacts with only a company name, no individual contact info. GMail replicated the full company name as the first name, leaving the last name field blank.
So in my contacts list, an entry might look like this:
The Station Restaurant
The Station Restaurant
When I created the contact I never used the first name or last name field, just the company field. Why, oh why, is GMail doing this to me??
Another thing that has happened to contacts with the ampersand symbol, "&", is that the name has been rearranged.
Bill & Karen Condon has become
& Karen Condon, Bill.
WTF is up with that?? When I set it up I put "Bill & Karen" in the first name field and "Condon" in the last name field. Then I left it alone. I now have a couple dozen contacts that start wth "&" residing at the top of my contacts list.
GMail contacts - added names to my contacts without them.
