Default Killer feature for me to get 8100..

Please Login to Remove!

is going to be the quality and capability of the voice dialing.

A) Will it work perfectly over a BT headset
B) Is it truly speaker-independent
C) Can you dial both names and numbers (digit dial)
D) Can you get other info. i.e. When/what the next appointment is, which calls you missed, what the battery level is, etc etc.

Having a WM 5.0 device right now and using MS Voice Command I'm admittedly spoilt but it's hard to give up this to get another phone.

Here's hoping BB comes through.

I hope not actually! I'm up for the voice dialing bit, but voice commands for next appointments and battery monitors - quite frankly I'd feel a bigger idiot than I currently look by publically asking my BlackBerry how much battery it has left, and this type of stuff just makes kit buggy for the sake of having some funky app you'll love for the first two days and then never use!!!

I also don't get why a device needs to 'tell' you how much battery it has left, as surely the more you ask the less battery you'll have!!!! Oh well!!!!

Discussions about voice commands always remind me of the Batman movies, and the totally voice commanded Batmobile. I can't picture meyself going through life saying "shields up!" into my handset!

Comes in super handy when the phone is in your pocket and you're driving. With MS Voice Command for example..

I can listen to which missed calls I had, call them back or call a contact or dial a new number without touching the phone. I can start an application, play music (ff,rw,pause that),check signal strength, etc again all by naturally speaking.

Maybe I'm just lazy but this is something I would expect in 2006 given that basic voice dialing has been around for probably over a decade.

Don't knock it until you try it - btw, I only use it over BT headset.

What would really be nice while driving is voice caller ID over bluetooth. Maybe it's just me, but I don't answer my phone until I know who it is. Caller ID has spoiled me.
