Hiya got a blackberry 9000 of my friend today and he said the only problem is it is the track pad/roller ball, it won't move from left to right, how can I fix this? The ball moves but the mouse on the screen does not, we have tried turning up the sensitivity.

Did it get wet? If so, it might be toast. If not, it could be dirt/lint under the ball from carrying it in your pocket, so try this:

Turn the device off. Press and hold the track ball and slowly roll in the direction that it doesn't work. Continue pressing and rolling in that direction for 15-30 seconds. Then begin rolling the ball in all directions for at least another minute. Stop and turn the device back on and see if it works. Could take a couple iterations to get it back.

If it works, do not carry it in your pocket, use a case.

The trackballs are user-replacable and available from most carrier stores. They are also available at Faceplate | Housing | Repair parts | Accessories | Mobile parts - Cellular Accessories | Mobile
