I recommend my users to manage their devices with Web Desktop. I have just got a new batch of 9700's with OS 5.0.0.545. If a device switch is attempted to the new phones the switch fails with an "Unable to complete switch device operation." message. If an Advanced backup is attempted the browser crashes (IE7) and I get this event log message, "Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16981, faulting module SCDeviceController.dll, version 1.2.0.20, fault address 0x0011cc49." SCDeviceController.dll is a RIM process file. I am able to switch services to the new phones but not data if I use the Web Desktop. The software version of Desktop Manager did not have any issues. My main concern is we have several remote offices and I have been upgrading users to new devices with the Web Desktop. I don't want to have to do remote installations, when the web version has been working so well. I am concerned the OS on these new phones has an issue with the Web Desktop on the BES (BES version in signature). Has anyone had this issue with their systems?
