I have searched around the forums and have not found anything conclusive on the best way to manage the memory in the 9000. I have a media card that I store all of my pictures, music on. I installed Rove File Manager in an attempt to clean out the device memory to free up memory. This works to a degree (it is no longer supported so I don't know if it is the best tool for this). I have 15MB free in device memory. Is this good? Bad? Are there other tools that give you a better view of how your memory is being used and how to clean it?
I notice that the longer I go between reboots that the amount of free space drops to 0. Should I reboot on a regular basis - is their a utility that will do this for me? Thanks.
yes you should reboot on a regular basis.
quickpull simulates a battery pull, freeing up memory.
15Mb can be low, but it depends on how many apps you have, whether you have cleared your browser cache, how many messages (both sent and received) that you keep, though you may not need them.
Good practise:
battery pull once a week (or more if needed)
clear the browser cache (open browser - menu - options - cache operations and clear each one)
delete both sent and received messages (or all types) that you no longer need.
make sure you exit correctly any application that you are not using.
(there should be 5 that are always displayed)
make sure when exiting the browser you do not leave it on an active page.
delete apps from the OS that you don't need. i.e. languages, help, games, memopad or tasks for example.

midnight pretty much said everything you can do except she didn't tell you that if you upgrade the os, it should increase the memory. Sometimes it doesn't but it usually does.

Um... no.
I didn't think so.
like MD said, i would pull my battery once a week.
Also, i clear BBM history as well.
i always reprimand people who don't do a battery pull on account of this: "It's a hassle. Who wants to wait for that long for the phone to start again?". I mean.. really?
