We have AT&T and my husband's phone is dead and he needs a new one b/c we didn't get insurance on it. And, of course we are nowhere near our contract being up (not up until next March) and so the only other option we have is ebay. The 8310 is still expensive on there, but there are some 8300's that are reasonably priced. Are these still ok to use?
I know it isn't 3G, but is it needed, all he will use it for is text messaging and making phone calls, no internet or email, although in the future he might. The SIM card he has in his razr now is a 3G card so does he have to have a 3G phone to put it in? Are there any other differences, I know 8310 has gps but he already has one in his car so that isn't a big deal.
What do you have to have to make it function properly, there is one on ebay that is including the phone only, which we already have a car charger and a home charger from a work blackberry, but do you have to have anything else?
There are a lot of people using BB's that are older than the 8300. It all depends on whether or not a particular model meets that person's needs. They're not perishable food items...
Jenn, an IT policy is pushed to a BB when it is on a corporate enterprise system, which often restricts some usage of the BlackBerry... like it could not allow the browser to work, or no SMS on the device.
If you were to encounter in existing IT Policy, a "black" non-restrictive IT Policy can be pushed to the device using a method we have in the FAQ here... cross that bridge when you come to it.
lol, still greek to me. The 8310 that just includes the phone ends in 2 hours and the guy hasn't emailed me back with the answers to my questions, hopefully he will.
I use the 8300 and I enjoy it. It's all about preference though. If your husband will really only use it for those two things, he'll enjoy the 8300 also.
