That is simply beautiful, hopefully the Driftwood is the exact same thing but with an optical tracking, cover on the camera to prevent dust, and UMA haha. I wish I didn't have T-Mobile sometimes.

You have to assume that the optical trackpad will be the standard on new devices from now on, economies of scale just means it makes more sense than having multiple types of trackball-type thing when they don't need them.
One thing that does seem slightly worrying about this device is the style of the keyboard, fitting the bold/tour keyboard into a form factor that is closer to being curve-sized could reduce usability somewhat, but if anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt with regards to keyboards its RIM.

Wow the device has everything.
You'd think us CDMA users will actually something that nice.. GSM devices are just so much more powerful..

Yes I read the reviews. We dont know yet how proficient the OS will be. I hate to later consider this device a high priced paper weight

I have to say I like and dislike this phone in equal measure.
On the one hand it looks really nice ans the small form factor will appeal to all ( as well as speculation that this could have a more powerful cpu than my Bold)
However on the other, as previously mentioned, the form factor/size of the device could impede usability and for a BlackBerry device to have a keyboard so small you can't actually use is a bit of a pointless exercise as BB's tend to be messaging orientated phones so you will spend a lot of time using the keyboard
Then again these conclusions that people come to can't really be taken seriously unless the said people (including myself) have had a proper hands on go of it.
Either way, looking forward to getting my hands on one!

I'm glad they relocated the USB port higher up on the device (as compared to 8900).

Basically it's a 3g 8900 (form) with maybe a faster processor for ATT. It looks just like the Tour to me.That's a good thing. Not earthshaking (the ATT 3g network is something to be avoided in my neck of the woods lol) but interesting. The optical touchpad, now that's earthshaking iMO

I think we will find with the onyx that the size of the device in combination with the style of keyboard will work just fine, but will require getting used to for a number of people depending on the size of their hands, but I am sure that anyone who has used a lot of different models of blackberry have gone through just that learning curve each time as you do get so used to your current keyboard e.g. it took me a while to get used to the small keys on my 8900 after having had a bold before that since they were also slightly different from the curve I had used before that.

Moving the usb to the right side for some of their recent devices just didn't seem right to me, glad they moved it from there and not having the earphone socket jammed close to the volume buttons is a good thing too.

It was weird cause then everything was on the right side of the device. There was only a convenience key on the left? That's just weird.
I know because of the form factor they wont be going back to mini usbs, but they are just so convenient. I have one mini usb cable for my phone, camera, and portable hard drive.
