Default Triangulating Signals

Please Login to Remove!

I read that there is some software that doesnt need GPS build into the phone for it to get your spot. Is this true? I use T-Mobile and the 8100.

Just yank the battery out while the device is on, and wait a few minutes. VOILA!! Fixed.

Yes. Google maps is one of the applications that uses cell towers to triangulate your location within 1500 meters. Another application that uses this method is FindMe and SameCell for FaceBook users. Though I am not sure of the download links off the top of my head, these are some pretty cool applications and can be found in a simple google search.

Wow, I really dont know this was possible, I was dissapointed I didnt have GPS after they did in the store.

With Google Maps, it's not actually triangulation... and it's also not limited to a 1500 meter accuracy.
Depending on the density of the towers in a particular area, the location approximation can be much better than 1500m.
