Default Disable the led when charging

Please Login to Remove!

Hi!
I have a 8100, the problem that I have is when I go to sleep I leave my bb charging and the led that indicates if the battery is full or is still charging is to strong. Is too much light to room. I have to cover with something else so I can sleep well.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Ni ideas to disable the led?
Many thanks.

Mariano

There is a way to disable it, mine stays off when charging. Let me see if I can find out how I did it.

It can be done, I dont know how though.

i don't believe you can disable only why charging but you can disable it altogether by going to Options > Screen/Keyboard > LED Coverage Indicator

I don't think that solves the "green light in the dark" problem. I have that turned off and I still get the light when charging.

I've never had my indicator come on while it was charging. Do you guys mean on a cradle-type charger or something?

My coverage indicator is off and I do not get an LED alert from charging. I simply get the icon on the screen. I think there may be different behavior between OS versions.

That's all I get is the little power cord icon connected to the battery indicator.

Two solutions - stick in in a drawer while charging or get some black electrical tape.

I have my LED Coverage Indicator set to off.

LED notification

But does yours alert Red when charging? Is the drawer and indication of yes? The document doesn't state red for charging....

Hi!
Many thanks to all for the quick replies.
The version of my os is 4.2.0.67 and I have disable the led coverage indicator and when I switch off to put to charge, the led is on.
Maybe is because you don't switch off the device to charge?
Any others ideas?
Thanks again.

Correct my device is on 24x7 except for battery pulls. Why charge it in the bedroom if you are going to turn it off? If it's on and you plug in do you get the red LED?

I have the same issue where the charging LED notification is too much and hinders my sleep. I keep mines by my bed and off (set to auto off at 1am) becuase I also use it as my alarm clock, so it wakes up and I wake up in the morning.

I just keep mine face down when charging at night, which help with the led issue.

I'm scared of the boogie man and sleep with a night light on so the indicator doesn't bother me.

Yep, that's the difference. If I turn my BB off, then plug in to charge, I get the blinking green light.

Here's a possible solution. You turn your phone off at night so you won't be disturbed? Well, instead of turning the phone off, just turn the wireless off (you should have an icon to be able to do this), but leave the phone power on. That way, you won't be disturbed by calls/messages at night, and you won't have to put up with the blinking light.
