Hey all!

Well, I installed OS6 this afternoon and couldn't get Windows Live Messenger working, so I've reinstalled OS5.

I use WLM for work, so really couldn't muck around too much trying to get it going. Was getting an "Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPoint Exception" error.

Also, I think the new interface will take some getting used to. Much easier to maneuver around OS5 I think.

anyway, that's my 2 cents.

WLM works fine here on 6.0 -- so if you're getting that msg, you'll need to perform a clean install using a Java wipe. That will fix it - guaranteed!

Thanks Steve. I'll give that a try once I've got some time, and report back.

Guys... Anyone experiencing issues with the Volume Down button? Mine randomly works and battery pulls are not efective. Any ideas?

I love the new system. Looks and acts great.

Only issue I have to this point is my GMAIL MOBILE will not allow me to REPLY. It will open the message, I can choose reply but when its time to send its just the reply message staring back at me. I have installed/uninstalled/installed and have done hard reboot to soft reboot. It just wont work. Any suggestions?

Other than that, the setup is way more then I expected and I am very impressed with the look and functionality.

Cheers.

Well I did do a wipe with JL_Cmder, reinstalled OS 6 and it worked great.

The problem that I had originally however (getting an "Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPoint Exception" error when trying to run MSN Messenger), returns when I restore my data backup, and not sure what data exactly. In any event, I'm able to restore my data by other means.

Other than that issue, I really do like the look and feel of the new OS and I've stuck with it now for the last couple of weeks.

One minor observation. Previously, when I placed my phone in it's charging cradle, the battery indicator adds a small charging indicator (lightning bolt?) to confirm charging. This doesn't occur now. However, if I plug the charging cable directly into the phone, the charging indicator is present.

cheers everyone

I like OS6, though I do have one gripe.

It apparently broke Beiks' Keyboard Locker. That program no longer locks the keyboard automatically after 30 seconds. :(

I tried all OS6 for 9700 & crashed at the end. I always thought that it crash because of third party application but I never can't stop myself to install those apps.
At the end, I go back to OS5 :(

I have installed OS6 (currently .418) and have had the same 3 major issues since the first install:
1. memory leak
2. battery leak
3. missing cursor in various places (sms, facebook, bbm)

So if anyone has any fixes for some of these issues i would appreciate it!
I do have to say that i love OS6! I just really wish the browser could support Flash.....

I have been running the new OS 6 in my 9700 for a couple of days, started with v358 and today I installed latest v418

Happy with new looks and other cool features and apps, like new browser and calendar.

I've had some of the troubles already mentioned, and some others:

- It gets laggy sometimes, probably comms issue. Also some reported problems with the curso in some option menus.

- BB Messenger: avatars won´t update either way and I can not restore my grups+contacts from the email backup. I'm about to re-install the whole app.

- GMail: the Search command right of the main menu, to look up specific messages, will freeze the app. It just doesn't work. Somebody reported another different problem with GMail, I can´t recall what it was and have'nt tested it either.

Haven't evaluated battery performance yet.

BTW, got it running (through great assistance of Beiks' Tech Support). It required a battery pull/reboot.

I finally got around to installing 6.0 today and I'm really digging it. I really like the 9700 as it is, and now it's pretty much THE poop since the upgrade.

Installation was hassle free and all of my apps carried over without issue. So far everything seems to work as advertised and I have zero complaints. The browser seems a bit faster and when using Bolt, it's even better.

Overall Big thumbs up. This is the way that the 9700 should have been released from the factory.

It's been a couple months since I first installed OS6 and so far I have very few complaints. The only significant problem for me is that the Bank of America App doesn't work at all, nor would the Webkit Browser work on that site. However, a Bolt browser works fine on that site, so I could still do my online banking. Everything else is fantastic, and I am still running the first leaked version.
