Question Do you love your 9700 series?

Please Login to Remove!

Are there any "serious issues" I should be aware of before getting a 9780?

Thanks!!

I had no issues with my 9700 that I used for 9 months, and my friend still uses it today.

Nope none loving it!! The only thing is I still have more love for the curve's keyboard and media keys at the top :( other than that bold's are better. You should be very happy with the 9780. Sucks that ATT isn't getting it :( I would've so got one today.

The 9700 is the best BlackBerry I've owned so far. I wasn't sure about the keyboard, but I adapted. A lot of the love is because of OS 5 plus now finally having all the software I've wanted -- the BlackBerry Podcasts app was it, and BlackBerry Traffic was the bonus. Great hardware, better OS than I had before, and all the apps I personally need. But the hardware is perfect for me.

9700 is a good device. My only complaint is my fingers at times are too big for the keys.
It might be me and the level of touch in my fingertips. Otherwise its great

I've got a 9700 for about a year now. I really like it, though it isn't without issues. As tsac mentioned, my fingers are sometimes to big for the keys. The keyboard lock button on the top still irritates me. I don't like that when you are listening to music in the media player and use the volume buttons on the side of the device, sometimes they adjust the volume, and sometimes they advance to the next song.

It's a great phone though. Really good reception.

The 9700 with 6.0 is Butter! I've had my 9700 since it dropped on at&t last year, and I have to say It blows my Torch away...6.0 has made it feel like a new phone all over again..

I haven't tried the Torch yet, but the 9700 running on OS6 is good enough for me not to bother trying the 9800.

I love my 9780, it is very fast, never lags or gets that loading clock screen thanks to the 512 MB of internal app memory. The photos taken with it are sweet and crisp!

The keyboard is very good, even better than the 9700, as they have made it in such a way that the keys are softer to press so that makes typing a little faster ( I have had both phones for a good while so I am not being biased), the build quality is amazing on both phones, they are very sturdy,

now........to the best part, they have the best BATTERY ever! All the BOLDs get the highest capacity battery so you can't beat that! 1450 mAh will get you flying for 1.5 - 2 days easily

You can't go wrong with the BOLD, just make sure you buy a screen protector and put it on before you remove the plastic off the screen as the screens are very sensitve, if you get ONE small scratch, when viewing anything on a white background like a website for example, that small scratch will look like a rainbow line :( so be warned, you MUST put a screen protector

And please dont go for the privacy protectors as they plain make the screen look ugly and dark! losing its shine and purpose of getting a BOLD, just get a regular transparent screen protector

Really like the phone, and it's only getting better with each OS update. Stoked to install OS 6 soon.

Battery life is amazing versus other batteries, restart time (especially with the new 6.0) is great too. Brickbreaker has never been the same since the side scroll wheel but that's ok. The touchpad is tough to get used to but good because it doesn't get dirty etc.
