Default 9700 screen protector

Please Login to Remove!

I recently applied ZAGG screen protector on our 8900 and it was OK, although it somehow slightly covered the gap above the screen, but it was still OK, anyway, Now it is time to get a screen protector for 9700, but the beveled edges of the screen makes me think twice.. The problem is that the screen protector probably wont wrap that curve since it is a short distance and if it just stops before the edge, it would look awkward. Can someone with ZAGG/InvisibleShield protector post a picture of what it looks like?

Thanks!

I don't have the answer for your question, but you can cut your own screen protector.

I bought a 10 pack of generic PDA protectors about 5 years ago. The large size ones (2" X 3" maybe?). I cut the up with an exacto knife to fit. I use them on many devices (camera peep-hole on the back of the 9700, digital SLR camera displays, etc...)

Yes, the beveled edge of the screen does cause a problem for my 9700 protector as well. It's not sticking on the far edges, so it collects dust.

If it bugs me a lot, I'll replace it with a slightly smaller one that fits inside the beveled edge, although that leaves the edge unprotected from knocks and bangs.

Hope this helps.

I love the screen protector from boxwave....so far, I have been buying them for my
8800/8820/9000 and now 9700...but yes, for the 9700, it won't cover the curved edge and it looks like they cut the height too, to only cover the major lighted area area, rather the entire surface height...maybe cost cutting? I would have looked nicer if the whole area was covered..

I got the protectors from BestSkinsEver. The one for the screen goes from the chrome on each side all the way to the chrome on the other side. It works great. I've got no peeling there yet. However, the BestSkinsEver protector isn't very smooth. It gives the screen a slight orange-peel look. It's not that bad though. I know the Zagg was very smooth as I had that on my Pearl. However, the Zagg protector yellowed horribly on my Pearl, so I'll be avoiding those in the future.

The ones from Zagg work well and they have the process down well with the applicator solution etc. Some work better than others - take your time is the big thing.
