Default Is there any way to have a "Compose SMS" shortcut, app or anything?

Please Login to Remove!

I have tried 4.5.0.52 and 4.5.0.55 and apparently the "Compose" shortcut that used to let you create a SMS or Email, now ONLY lets you create an Email.

Is there any way to regain the "Compose SMS" functionality?

An app? A hack? Some feature I am missing?

Thanks.

Oh P.S. 8100.

Default O2 Zen theme

The O2 zen theme comes with these functionality, what you need to do is in the research in motion folder in program files, common files, look for the shared folder, loader files, find the latest Os you install, open that folder, and edit the file Blackberry.alx with note pad, there look for the O2 zen and change the vendor number to your vendor number, synchronize, run the app loader and that is it. good luck!!!

IMO all this extra SMS application stuff won't do the OP any good. It sounds like you've lost the SMS functionality. You should call your carrier and make sure that the SMS messaging is still on your account. They may need to send a command to your device to re-enable it.

I send/receive hundreds of SMS/day, this is not to do with my account it is for everyone on 4.5.0.52 and .55 I have tested multiple devices on multiple accounts all do the same thing.

This app works great!

Is it possible to set up a keyboard shortcut for this to make it even faster?

The person I was asking for has it set as her right key. I personally have my left/right keys to calendar/tasks, but if you can afford to use one of your side keys, then you have a shortcut that will always work even when you are in another app.

Though not free, LaunchPads is a great shortcuts/launcher app. It doesn't have a keyboard shortcut for composing an SMS, per se, (although it does have keyboard shortcuts to create tasks, calendar entries, contacts, etc...)you can configure one of the launcher buttons to compose a new sms and it'll take you right to the contacts database to locate the recipient.
