Many thanks to Mark who posted great FAQs about getting MDS functionality without using a 3rd party service.

I used the directions and called Cingular 2x now to see if they would add the services so I could use Verichat, etc. The first time they added Media Net Pay-per-use and wap.cingular. The second time they tried to add the WIX line items, but he said they aren't there anymore in a pay-per-use form. Anyone else out there encounter this? I'm still encountering problems.

I think I'm running into the very same problems. I've tried calling twice today and even visited one of the Cingular owned stores in the area to see if they could help.

According to several posts I've seen here you need the DataConnect options added to your account. As seen in the posts here there was no charge associated with Data Connect.

Today however I've been told 3 times that the only DataConnect option they have is part of a pay package.

Anyone out they have Cingular with no BES and have 3rd party apps like Verichat and BBToday working?
Do you pay for Data Connect?

I know the WIX stuff was Cingular's "MediaNet" before MediaNet. We may be in a situation where those who had it can keep it but those of use can't be grandfathered in.
