Default Annoying issue with Gmail and Sent Messages

Please Login to Remove!

Summary: I cannot figure out how to stop receiving sent messages from Gmail on my BB. Even when I compose the message using the Gmail web interface, a copy of the sent message appears on my BB.

Details: I has BES at the office for my work e-mail. Works great for years. I also use BIS for POP-ing my Yahoo and Comcast e-mail. I recently signed up for Gmail and now have this annoying issue mentioned above I disabled POP on Gmail and BIS and am now trying forwarding today. Same darn issue: when I send a message from Gmail, both from the BB and/or from the web, a copy of the sent message also hits my BB.

I don't want or need to see the sent message on my BB; I just end up deleting it and aksing myself why the heck it is happening. I am a fairly experienced IT person and have studied many forums plus evey setting in Gmail and BIS with no clue.

I wonder if our BES has some influence on the matter?

Any ideas out there?

You can set up filters in your Gmail to have all the messages sent from your gmail address to go to a label named something along the lines of "Sent from BB." There are several threads in this forum describing how to do such a thing; try searching "Gmail filter."

Aha. Yes I have read about filters here but didn't realize they were for this issue. Ok I will study them further. Thank you.

Just curious though, what is the technical reason this happens with Gmail, but not with other email servers?
