Default 32GB Memory Card driving me up the wall!

Please Login to Remove!

Bought a 32GB transcend memory card and tried copying (using PC) photos/songs/files/videos. Halfway through it fails saying 'the destination you are trying to copy is no longer available' ...

Tried syncing but that copies most but leaves a few behind and says 'files not transferred...' each time it is a different file. My old 8GB still works like a charm.

Thought the card was faulty so got a replacement - but same problem. Tried formatting, repairing (does not come up with errors) and read all other forums and finally thought will post and ask for help!

btw, I am running OS 5 and all the stuff that i manage to transfer works without any problem.

any ideas? or should I just ditch this 32GB and go back to 8GB?

My *guess* would be an incompatibility between BB and SD card. Could be the manufacturer or the speed class of the SD card.

It happen to me once, with a 16 gig card. Its usually means the faulty card, there are a lots of fake cards going around. I see that you have already done the tests, but the fault lies in one of the sectors, so unless you have done the long (extended) write test you may not detect it. If you are buying a high density micro sd card (16gb and above) its advisable to go and buy from reliable sources (I am not saying you dint, maybe you just a dud one).

Thanks!

Will probably give it another shot by replacing this 'replaced' card. This time thinking of asking if I can swap it for Sandisk. If that doesn't work, what the heck - I will stick to the 8 GB for some more time.
As for the speed, it should support class 4 is what they say for 8900 OS 5.

Thanks again.
