Default New BB 9700 owner questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,
yesterday I bought the BB 9700 and I think its by far the best phone I ever had, very intuitive yet complicated with lots of options and possibilities. Love it.
I have a couple questions for start.

1.) I cant download AppWorld, my country is not listed yet.
Does that mean I wont be able to install all the awesome apps for BB ? :(
I did find some and isntalled them manually through my computer, but it took me some hours to figure everything out etc.,etc.

2.) I installed 2 GPSs' so far, amAze which loads and says there is a connection problem, and then I installed MGMaps and I have NO clue how to control MGMaps, it doesnt seem to have any controls tracking or anything...
Any tips where to read about this some 101 ?

3.) This is not directly a Bb question, but more a phone question since Im a noob at this - can I have 3G on all the time, in another words if no internet is running, nothing is streaming, it wont drain my prepaid amount if data right ?

4.) Which apps are mandatory ?
5.) Finally - any good read on some general 101 on BB 9700 ?

Thanks ;)

3G indicates you CAN have 3G data; it does not show only when USING data

Most apps, games, and themes can be installed without the need for AppWorld. I find AppWorld to be clunky and a memory hog so I dont use it. Others will likely disagree with me.

The manual that came with your 9700 is a great resource for 101 reading. Also, follow the 9700 forum here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ussion-bold-2/

Moved to 9700 section.

For BB 101, read your User Guide, and check the links in my sig block for our FAQ and for Stinsonddog's tips. Also peruse the posts in this section.

Check the Aftermarket section for 3rd party app reviews.

Check the GPS & Maps section for more on those features/apps.

And welcome to BBF.
