Default Help - Copying a video from Bold to PC

Please Login to Remove!

I have two videos recorded on the Bold and saved to device memory. I can see them and play them on the Bold, but cannot see them when connected to Desktop Manager 4.6 using the Media Manager. What gives? Also, there are no options available on the video player to send or email the video like there are with pictures.

What am I doing wrong?

Can you see the BlackBerry from Windows Explorer? You should be able to turn on Mass Storage Mode, and then you'll be able to copy files to/from the device like any other drive. Also, you will need a compatible player like Quicktime in order to play .3gp files on your PC.

Sure, I can see the BB fine connected in mass storage mode. But that mode only is for accessing the SD card content. I need to access the device memory content.

You may ONLY do that through media manager. It should be shown right next to the SD card in the bottom left.

I would not put videos files on your device memory. You will eat up the memory extremely fast. The Bold has 1GB of internal storage that can be seen as a drive in Windows Explorer as well as the SD card.

Ok, I've attached a screenshot from Media Manager. I am clearly viewing device memory and there is nothing being reported in the Video folder of the device memory.

Yet I can watch the two videos I recorded on the Bold itself and see the file names. Should there be options on the Bold for sending those video clips? If so, I don't have those options either.

I saved the video clips on the device memory because my memory card was full at the time.

So again, I'm like WTF is going on here?

Then they are either NOT on internal memory or NOT in the video folder. Have you checked the folder settings?

Well, considering the videos play without my SD card inserted, it's safe to say they are on internal memory. I've checked every other folder on the device when connected to media manager and the files do not appear.

No one has been able to answer this question though. Should I have options to email or otherwise send the video file like I do with pictures?

No, you cannot send a video like you can a picture.

And, you need to realize, there are 2 types of interal memory/storage with the Bold. There is the 128MB of device memory, and there is the 1GB of internal storage. The 1GB partition will show up in Windows Explorer as a drive if you have Mass Storage Mode enabled.

Wirelessly posted

Go into your video options and set it to save to your SD card. You can also google converstors for .3gp. I found one for free that will make your bold videos playable in most video players.

Actually, you can. I have done this. Unfortunately, it's been unreliable.

Just send it to your email account. Open your blackberry email, compose a message, attach the video and then send it to your email.
