Ok, I admit I'm a newbie when it comes to BBs so mind my ignorance please !

Yesterday all of a sudden I wasn't able to open the "options" on the homescreen ... I've tried powering the BB down and everything else (short of pulling the battery - do I "lose anything" if I do that ???)

I've done the alt+esc to pull up the programs running, and it appears to be "running" but I can't get to it.

if I click on the options (either on the homescreen or in the program menu) it
locks" on me ... until I hit the power off key which just exits me back to "home"

anyone that could help a newbie out ??

(everything else is working fine - and the unit's only a few months old, no trama, no water, ... it's just this one thing that mysteriously stopped working )

Try pulling the battery with the BB powered on, no you won't loose any data...

You won't lose any data by pulling the battery, and it may, in fact, fix the problem you're having.

Give it a try and see if it helps. Pull the battery while the device is on, the put it back in after 20 seconds.

Pull the battery with the phone turned on. This will reset the phone and will not hurt anything.

I'm a little paranoid - this is my "only phone" (no landline), and as someone who's hard of hearing/deaf it's also my connection to most of my hearing and hh/d friends

(mind you I did get the extra warranty)

rebooting now ....

The 'battery pull' will clear up a lot of screwy issues.
