Default 9700 problems with outlook emai?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a business email address that is in outlook. I have tried to set up a new account and cannot get into my email. I contacted the company where my email address is and they pretty much said that it won’t work with the bb, however one of the guys did say that it would work if you could configure it correctly. He would not tell me how to do it, only that it could be done.

Any suggestions?

More information is required regarding your email account and email server.
How do you access your email account now? POP3, IMAP, Outlook Web Access, etc.?

Without knowing the specifics of your environment, it's impossible to provide any direction.

OK, OWA is compatible with BlackBerry Internet Service under 'most' circumstances.
You may need to contact your IT Department at your company for assistance in setting this up.
If the company that hosts your email is saying that it's not compatible with BlackBerry, then they probably are telling you the truth. They may have it blocked for security reasons, or whatever reasons they choose.

And you also need a BES option...BIS won't do it.

That's incorrect.
You don't need a BES data plan to integrate with OWA via BlackBerry Internet Service.

OK i got it working. I went into the "about" section of my email and entered the needed info into the BB and BAM! Now itxxx8217;s working.

Next question (probably doesnxxx8217;t belong in this thread but letxxx8217;s see)

When I go into the SMS and MMS area of the phone ALL of my sent and received messages are in there and also in a chat log format. Is there a way to change this or at least organize it by inbox or outbox messages? I donxxx8217;t like seeing everything all together.

Please start a new thread for this question as it not relevant to your original problem. However if you SEARCH on "separate SMS and email", you will most likely find a solution.

I can use my company email no problem on my 9700... but they've (my systems people) have set up our exchange server to be have the web access feature enabled, and configured to that handhelds (iphones, palm pre's, bb not running BES) can access it... runs great on mine...
