A few weeks ago the company I work for fiddled with the proxy somehow and have screwed up my desktop redirector.
Messages that normally got sent to my device now just appear in my Inbox as Spam: Spam: (forget what it says - those emails that say 'do not delete') and don't ever get delivered. It's apparently for our own good (security?) and everyone's got the same issue. They also block automatic 'redirecting' or forwarding messages in an Outlook rule in your Inbox.
What's the workaround? There's got to be a workaround - something I can throw in my HOSTS file to get around the proxy issue? Some way of maybe dropping them into a Yahoo or Hotmail account so they get to my BB? Some 3rd party app I can use that replaces the redirector? Some Outlook add-on that fools the proxy?
Enquiring minds want to know. Who's gotten around this issue?
They have closed the hole allowing people to redirect work email to a personnal device. I would advise against trying to circumvent that company policy. In most places, trying to go around security rules is grounds for dismissal.
IT Policies are not "workaround-able". They're designed to be that way. The only thing to do is talk to your IT department and make a strong case for why you need this feature to be allowed on your account. There's probably a form you can submit stating your case.
