Angry WordToGo error

Please Login to Remove!

I have DocsToGo premium (1.005) loaded on my Curve. SheetToGo and SlideshowToGo work just fine. Every time I try to open or create a file in WordToGo, I get the following error messages:
The application WordToGo has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.
Permission to your files was denied. Please configure your application permissions appropriately.
I don't have an IT policy on my handheld (running BIS only). DataViz is no help, as they tell me to contact RIM. I've checked all kinds of BB forums but have yet to find an answer to this particular problem. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Go to Options -> Security Options -> Firewall, make sure it is disabled if it's enabled then disable it, also while you are look at the firewall settings hit the menu and choose the option reset all counts.

Thanks for the response. Is it OK to disable the firewall? From all the searching I've done, that seems to be the only way to fix this issue. Would I have to re-enable it every time I want to use the browser?

Another "solution" that I found was when people were upgrading to the .66 OS version. Since I'm running .77, should I downgrade to .66 and hope that fixes it?

For anyone else having problems with Docs To Go, here's a 2-step solution I got from another forum. You DON'T have to disable the firewall:

Go into Options > Security Options > Application Permissions > Documents To Go > Menu Key > Edit Permissions

1) Set all permissions for Connections, Interactions and User Data to "Allow"

2) Highlight "Word To Go" module (or which module is causing problems) > Menu Key > Edit Permissions > Reset Firewall Prompts

Wirelessly posted

I haven't seen any difference or reason to turn the firewall on (other then for a business BlackBerry) the Firewall can interfere with 3rd party applications, some of which can't be fixed by editing permissions.

The issue in the first post has 2 listed solutions in this thread, have you tried those?

You can not access your applications on your blackberry if you have it plug into the computer. If you do you will recieve the permissions error.

You can plug your BlackBerry into your Computer, and enable Mass Storage Mode, and you cans till run Documents To Go to edit documents... However with Mass Storage Mode enabled you can not access the files on your Media Card, but It should not generate the error message.. (unless you have file open from you Media Card while enabling Mass Storage)

I've tried both disabling/enabling the firewall and reverting/converting the application settings- neither of which has worked.
I originally had this problem after installing PDF to go- and it was fixed, but after the update it deleted PDF to go in the update and now I can't even fix it using the same methods!
