If you don't have BES there are two options:

1. Use the Desktop Redirector.

2. Configure the Outlook Web Access account on BWC.

You might want to do this if you don't want to install the redirector on your PC or you can't because of a company IT policy regarding software and personal BlackBerry devices are not supported.

I have successfully setup BWC to pull from OWA 2003. As I am new to the BB I have not tried with OWA 2002.

Right, that's the point I am making. The BB website states that it currently does not support integration with OWA 2003, but that seems to be untrue as I have integrated successfully with two OWA 2003 accounts simply by following the instructions throw the BWC.

Default Outlook Web Access

When I try to submit I get a message that says it cannot intergrate. I work for a State Government Agency. Could they be blocking my ability to access thru blackberry even though I can access thru the web?

Default Outlook Web access

I figured out I needed to add my domain. It works perfect. I had been trying to figure out if I could do this and was told no by those I work with, but YOU proved them wrong. No I have everything I want in one device. Three different emails, phone, modem and given games! Only thing missing now is a camera!

No, all I get is my email messages which is all I need. I have same contacts on laptop that I have at work so I sync with my laptop to keep contacts up-to-date with BB.

Pardon the ignorance. What is need for OWA when the Berry allows you to retrieve your email anyway via BES?

My BB is not provided by employer therefore it is not activated. This is the only way I figured out to get my work email.

Because not all BB users have access to a BES.

The only other way would be to use the desktop redirector, but that requires a computer be always on and Outlook always running. Using the BWC is your best bet outside of the BES.

So, those of you who have OWA working: Does the BB simply fetch the message and leave a copy on the server? Meaning, if you reply to a message, you will have to jump through the standard hoops to have a copy in your sent items, right? By standard hoops, I mean you'll have to BCC yourself, then have a rule on your desktop that will put those messages in your Sent Items, etc...

Thanks...

In my experience, that is correct.

OWA 2003 might be working for the time being but when it stops you wont be able to fix it. I suggest getting your exchange admin to forward your messages from the server to you [email address] account

OWA 2003 is unsupported but is best effort to make it work

call my cynical, but i would think that any company with a decent security model would not allow this sort of delivery within their mail environment.

Better and works more consistently than trying to get Redirector to work. The network I work for doesnt even support redirector.

Again, please remember that not all people using a BB are set up on a corporate BES. The tone of this thread was directed more to users synching their BB to email accounts without this option. I would agree that any "decent" corporate security framework should definitely not allow messages be delivered to and from the BB outside of the BES. That being said, I have found setting up email accounts either through a Microsoft Exchange server, POP3 access, or forwarding directly to the BB email address more effective and reliable than the bundled desktop redirector.

oh, i agree completely, but typically speaking, sending internal email to external sources, either from the Exchange server or from an Outlook rule, for the purposes of delivery to a mobile device would not be part of a corporate security model, imo.

I have been able to get access straight to the web client after enabling style sheets.
