Default Network Carrier changes on Wifi

Please Login to Remove!

BB 9700 unlocked in USA from ATT to TMobile. Can make calls on TMobile when in a coverage area, but not in a Wifi only area.

Problem - I use WIFI in non-cellular coverage area. Phone resets to ATT Mobile Network (in managed connection setting). Spoke with tech support at BB, TMobile & ATT and still can't get phone to work in a no coreage area on Wifi.

Any help appreciated.

You're trying to use UMA for WiFi calling... but that won't work with an AT&T device, even if it's unlocked.

You need a T-Mobile branded device if you're on the T-Mobile network.

I called BB tect support & was told that ATT doesn't offer calling over Wifi. So the phone will not work on UMA. It has to be a TMobile phone. Anyone know if you can change software of some of the setting to enable wifi UMA calling?

Run through this thread.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...tethering.html

It applies to the 9800 with OS 6 and I have no idea if it will work with your device and OS.
It's about as close as you'll get to a solution.
