I just read through all of the threads in the Aftermarket Software forum about eOffice, but I couldn't find an answer to my original question which is, does it run on a Curve? And is there a performance hit because it seems to be such a large suite of programs. Even the standard version seems to be on the bulky side.

I loaded the free version of eOffice onto my curve a few months back and it seemed like it was still programmed for the track wheel, not the "pearl" on the curve. I didn't like it at all and bought a year's subscription to Repligo instead, which I think is much better.

It looks like Repligo requires a server application installed on my company's BES server to maintain the documents.

I really need something that will work locally on my BB. I know the company is not going to add a server like this. Looks like I am stuck with the eOffice suite.

You don't need your own server. Repligo hosts it as part of the subscription. I'm on BES and it works flawlessly. Try it out. I believe they have a free trial.

Good question you brought up. I was thinking of getting it too when I get my 8300 for T-mobile.

I am using it for personal use so I am on BIS and not BES.

Anyone else have more feedbacks on this?

i trialed eoffice on my curve. worked fine....
it was rewritten to use the trackball as a mouse. a little too pricey for me, especially since i didnt feel i would be using it all that much. However it worked very well

Maybe worth waiting for DocsToGo from Dataviz before making the jump. As for me, I'm using eOffice Basic version and have always felt that it can be better.

I too have been waiting for Docs2Go... ever since I dumped my Treo 680 back in August. So please do post your experiences, both good as well as bad.

I'll go slightly off a topic to say that I was a very happy Palm user since my first PDA, a Palm Pro back in 1996 if I remember right. I also had a 515, then two different Treo 650 smartphones (I'm a sailor, need I say more?) all of which I just loved. But then I got the 680 (two actually, the first was DOA and the 2nd was good for 4 hours on a charge) and I just couldn't believe what an absolutely TERRIBLE product it was. It ranks right up there with IBM's PC Junior as the worst tech product of all time.

Anyway, I switched to the Curve and so far have been very happy... except that I miss Docs2Go. This is a really outstanding product that kept getting better and better. I literally "left my laptop behind" whilst traveling in the past. Like the Curve, Docs2Go has a great UI and very rich functionality. The best part was editing docs back-and-forth betwixt the Treo and PC (except PPT's, PDF's and other "images") , with all edits included irrespective of where entered... and with no program bugs. Man I miss that product!

I've read numerous reviews of that eOffice BB product and decided to stay away from what is widely reported to be a very low quality app. I understand that Replegio (sp) is pretty good however and as I say, I'm also considering it as a placeholder. Trouble is, I really want to travel again sans laptop and that means I have to edit docs, not just read them.

docs2go will be built in to the 4.3 OS release for the curve coming out soon!

For those of you tired of waiting for DataViz, eOffice is now costs less and we have added a lot more features and fixed a number of issues. I think it is worth trying it out again .

no it isn't. docstogo is far superior than what you publish, IMO.

I am a new blackberry user and I am debating on eoffice or docstogo. There are some features listed that docs2go doesn't have.

So i'm curious, curious does it run better in your opinion or is it that the access to your desktop and other feature don;t live up to the hype?

eOffice lets you edit Excel files, and then some...

Been having this for a couple of months now...works great for me..! For the price of 60plus dollars, it's a bargain, if you ask me...

At the end of the day, all we offer are opinions, the final choice is yours, dude..
