I think we've done this before :D but here are my wish list items, in no particular order:

1) Ability to view graphics in attachments (coming in 4.0)

2) Ability to search calendar (or, in general, ability to search all device data)

3) Higher resolution screen

4) Bluetooth

5) Better PIM in general (more fields, better layout, more customizeable)

6) Better Phone in general (polyphonic sound, assign unique ringtones, groups, speaker-phone, etc.)

7) Better backlight quality, time-control, and elevated button

Eight) Different color for phone number keys (and, if possible, abc def ghi written out above corresponding key)

That's about it...not much...it's almost perfect already :D

Oh, I didn't understand your post about new hardware...

Yes, any additional media/memory would be great -- I have to select which applications to have on the device because I always run short of memory.

I know some devices have phone numbers in different colors -- unfortunately my 7230 does not. Also, the ABC DEF GHI labels are not on any device (I think) -- while you can press <ALT> LETTER, I would like the ability to use the shorter method.

IR would be good -- don't use it very often, but since most of my business contacts use Blackberry's it could be useful to "beam" contacts, etc.

I would like to have voice abilities. Basic stuff like voice dialing and more complex such as navigation.

Now I do not expect to have the phone recognize my voice off the bat. I would expect to choose "scroll" from a list and then voice in "scroll" to program it.

Few things I'd like to see, though doubtful it'll happen.

1: Stylus along with the jog dial
2: Stylus input, be-it grafitti or similar, along with the qwerty keyboard
3: perhaps wifi, I get get online via GPRS, but if I sit in the living room, I want to get on using my wifi lan
4: Bluetooth for sure, full functioning, data, voice, etc etc

Chances are a Sony device will never find its way into a Blackberry, but Panasonics SD proabably will.

Either way, a mp3 player and some sort of external storage device would be amazing.

MP3 - NEVER (This is a corporate device)
Touch-Screen - NEVER (This is what seperates the BB from Palm, among other things)
Bkaclight Settings - Maybe

I agree that Touch Screen is a never -- makes a rugged device into a flimsy device, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Also, the primary user interface is not designed for a Touch Screen, and I don't think it would work well or intuitively.

As for MP3 -- here I disagree. I don't think RIM will spend much time trying to design MP3 players, or even caring much about them, but I do believe that they have absolutely GOT to develop better all round sound support. Whether it's for the ability to listen to attached voicemail messages, or because of a the need to allow for development of other voice applications, the versatility on the sound side is needed. And once they do that, why not open up the API to ANY sound application? Why should RIM (or anyone else, for that matter) care if I want to have xxxxx polyphonic ring tones on my BB? And so what if I want to have an MP3 recording of little boy singing Old MacDonald? Once we solve for the amazing lack of available memory, why not let us have access to MP3's?

Just my $0.02.

Can you think of a reasonable way to keep one letter, a number and then an additional set of three letters readable on one key or were you planning to needlessly increase the size of the device when there is already an alternative that takes exactly the same amount of time to use?

If they tend to use blackberries then simply attach the contact to an email and send it to one or all of them at once.

Eeww touchscreens and styluses on a blackberry, if i wanted that then i'd buy an xda or whatever palm turns up with blackberry support, why mess with something that isn't broken?

As far as mp3 players, why are people so eager to compromise the functionality of two devices just so they are in the one package, if you'd use the mp3 player feature a lot then you may as well get a decent mp3 player or even an ipod if you aren't too bothered about battery life anyway.

As far as external storage, what would you actually have on your blackberry that would take up enough space that you needed external storage, in time its possible, but nowhere near the case in the immediate future
