Talk about an off topic thread. Any word on the new BB's? I LOVE Alltel as a service provider. I have no gripes at all except they are a little slow on putting out new toys. I've had both T-mobile and Sprint/Nextel. T-mobile was great...Sprint/Nextel was a nightmare. Alltel needs the Pearl! I hope those June rumors come true.

I like Alltel in my area since there really isn't any other choices. Verizon sucks here because coverage is really good only in major towns here in South Dakota. They are really making good strides in South Dakota for the people here to get service. I herd from my agent that they are getting the new BB in the next 4 months. I don't think there is a better service carrier then the rest. I think it comes down to where you live and what you like to do on that network.

Ok, I have at one time or another used all five of the top carriers. T-Mobile was my last and while I do miss the bells and whistles that they offer as well as the phone selection, for the area I live in nothing beats Alltel's service. The network, customer service, and not to mention the commercials being funny as hell have all made me a loyal Alltel customer. Hopefully they will introduce some new BlackBerryxxx8217;s to their line up, I emailed Alltel customer service last week and this was the responsexxx8230;.

"At this time, we do not plan to release any new Blackberry devices. There is talk of releasing an 8800-series model but nothing has been confirmed yet."

I wonder if Alltel will get the 8820. Probably not for another year. In my area Alltel can't be beat for service. I don't mind being a bit behind on the phones in favor of reliable service.

My rep said 8830 on August 16th, but added, "You know how dates go though." He also said here in Rapid City, South Dakota, that we'll have EVDO by the end of the year.

Can someone translate this, possibly in English? I tried to go back to his other posts and can't identify the language. Maybe this is written Klingon?

Default IMO Alltel is aweful in SC

Just had my first and last Alltel experience. The store clerks were jerks, I got a phone that never worked and they wouldn't rectify it the next day. Called customer service and they said sorry they couldn't help it was up to the stores dicretion to give me a new phone or refund me, their wasn't anything they could do. Now I'm out 160 bucks and have 700 minutes through a useless company with a useless phone. He's right Alltel Sucks!

You know they have a return policy on the phones right? How long did you have the phone? What is the model of the phone you are having problems with? Why is a company useless because the clerks at one store are jerks? Why don't you say something about the actual problems instead of blasting them saying how they suck so bad?

welcome to my world the laptop aircards are the worse an are often replaced because the hardwares faulty. Keyocera an UTstarcom BLOW. oh it takes at least 1-3 months for us to get a replacent. an we are a business account. as far as rates go the GSM carriers have lower rates it's kinda sad when ATT can beat Altel

I guess I thought this was a "New Blackberry for Alltel" thread, not an "I Hate Alltel" thread.
I personally look forward to continuing with Alltel, and will switch to the 8830 the day its available.

It seems that the one with the vendetta towards Alltel in this thread is "Galvatron". Examine his (her?) posts and note the lack of education or common courtesy as well as the abundance of slang.

Always consider the source before taking any advice.

My business rep said he got an email stating that the 8830 for Alltel has been delayed until the end of the month (August).

If you're having issue getting your faulty equipment replaced, you need to blame your AE or Key Account Rep, who as probably "dropped the ball" and not ordered the replacement or just call CARE yourself and they will mail you a replacement card via XBM! I have had NO problem with my UT PCC5750 in some very remote places! Barnesville, Ohio - population...900, and I actually had EVDO! If the rate plans are so much lower with AT&T and their devices work so much better, perhaps your company would be better served by contacting a B2B rep (I've been kind enough to give you that number) Business Solutions Experts at 866-429-7222 for AT&T. I'm sure that the SW or S-E cards will give you NO problems....once you get them to finally connect, oops, dropped that piss-poor GSM signal again! Best of luck in your decision!
