Default HELP please!! Tearing my hair out (whats left of it)

Please Login to Remove!

I have 3 Blackberry's on our network. We use a BES server and Exchange 2003. Up until yesterday everything was working fine I decided to upgrade the software on my 8100 to version 4.5, it seemed to have worked but it wiped my device of any of the enterprise settings, so i had to reactivate, which i am still trying to do!
i upgraded the BES server to the latest version and the other 2 Blackberry devices (8100's also) are working perfectly.

I get the activation email in my Outlook mailbox which proves the T-Mobile network is working i guess, however thats it the device just keeps trying to activate. On the BES server it is very hard to add my user again as it just sits there initialising. I have connected the device to the BES server and managed to assign a device to the user but i still cannot activate it. I have tried removing my mailbox and recreating but still the same issue. I have readded the send as and receive permissions on my mailbox for BEsadmin user.

Please could someone point me to my next step, ie specific procedures, log files etc.

A customer of mine had an issue kinda like this the other day. Outlook/Exchange was moving the activation message to junk mail. I white listed the address and it worked.

Also if you are using the desktop manager configed for BES, then it should automatically reactivate the unit after the OS upgrade. As long as your MAPI profile is set as the default.

The email is appearing in my inbox, not junk mail. i did the upgrade using desktop manager on my pc so its not configured for BES.

Does activation message disappear as well upon arrival? Is your outlook using cached Exchange Mode?

It is BESAdmin permission issue on exchange store. You don't open that message right?

If you open it activation will fail. Please leave it alone and wait until it disappears (should be quickly gone) and be patient.

might be a silly question, have you tried rebooting the server, or at least restarting the bb services?

It will state initilize as long as it is not activated. Have you tried wired activation using Blackberry Manager.

this may sound harsh but: Change all the BESadmin options back to what they were before this all started. Backup and wipe your blackberry. delete your user from the bes. make sure its gone from the pending list also. re-add your user to the bes. activate your BB by connecting it to the server.
