I recently acquired a BB 9000. When I attach it to my Windows XP-driven computer, it takes several minutes for the BB Desktop Manager to see the device. Then I can no longer find my external hard drive. I assume there's some conflict with the communication ports. Any suggestions?

The conflict is with the drive letters. From within Windows XP, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, from the resulting application, select the Disk Management option. You can then right-click on your external drive and change the drive letter to another or change the drive letters that your 9000 use.

You should not have to restart but I would recommend that you do.

You should be good after that.

A common problem. you would think the OS would be smart enough to not duplicate.
