Default Quick Change Profiles

I've tried holding down the # key as I saw in some other post but I don't get the menu to switch profiles.

Is it something else?

On my Pearl the # key switches between the active profile and the vibrate profile automatically. The menu won't appear. You have to hold it down for about 5 seconds.

It's asking me to assign a speed dial. I assume I'm missing some crucial step?

In order for the 'F' key to work you hacr to have home screen dialing turned off. You can turn that off by going to Phone > Options > General Options.

Are you holding down the F key or are you just pressing it once?

Bump. I'd like to know how to do it as well without having 'dial from home' turned off. I know it was very simple with my 8100(I believe it was as simple as holding down the button with the speaker on it) but I haven't had any luck with my 8800.

The # for vibrate only works on the non-qwerty keyboards. The "F" will bring you to profiles on the 8830 if you turn off dialing from the home screen (as mentioned above) but with a quick press -- no need to press and hold.
