Default Secure Browser Icon gone

Please Login to Remove!

I've recently upgraded from a 6750 to a 7250 and am very happy.

However, the 7250 had 2 different Internet Browser icons (standard and secure), but now the Secure Browser icon is no longer present, Show All doesn't display it.

Details:

Handheld software is v4.0.0.204 which is the latest available through my service provider (Platform 2.0.0.28).
Desktop software is 4.1.0.10 (Sept 14 2005) which is the latest available through my service provider.

Desktop Application Loader shows following under Browser:
- Browser is checked and greyed out - 910k
- SSL/TLS Security Package is checked and greyed out - 6k
- JavaScript pacakge is checked - 40k

I'm curious where the icon went, do I need to worry about it, and if I do, how do I get it back.

Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

by "secure" I guess you mean the one from the BES and not your provider. You can have your IT guy resend service books or just recradle it to your desktop. If it still doesn't come in regenerate the encryption key and make sure the IT guy has MDS on for you.

Default Secure browser icon gone

Thanks for your reply. However, my Blackberry is personal, and I don't use BES.

When I got the new device, there were 2 browser icons, one (which I still have) that's title displays as "Internet Browser" when I've cirsored to it.

The missing one was called "WAP Secure Browser" or something like that.

I have a 7250 also and no BES and all you get is one browser. I believe that is carrier related whn you are not on BES.

Wow. I have three browsers (does that make me a pimp?) on my 8700c:

1) Cingular Browser
2) BlackBerry Browser
3) Internet Browser

I'm on BES.

Blackberry Browser -> BES (MDS)
Internet Browser -> Everyone should have it
T-Zones Browser or Cingular Browser -> something that is carrier dependent, you might want to register again on the network in case that service book is missing, you'll get that browser back as soon as you have the WAP Transport and Wap Browser Book Service Books.
