Default App World error reading reviews

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. For the past several days, I've had a problem with App World. When I click on REVIEWS (for obvious reasons) I get an error message (see image), and when I click on OK, App World exits.

I believe that the problem started after upgrading my 9700 to handheld software 5.0.0.545 last week.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Anyone know of a fix?

I can't open image on wap page, but have you tried a battery pull yet?

Other thoughts: Is the device on a BES, or ever on a BES? (Thinking IT Policy)

Thanks for you reply

I do a battery pull every evening. The 9700 is not, and has never been on BES.

Since you can't open the image, the error message is:
"There was a problem reading data from the server and Blackberry App World must exit. Error type: 1000022"

Default App World error

I've done some further digging. The error only occurs on trying to read reviews while on WiFi. If I disable WiFi, I do not receive the error.

When connected to WiFi, all other areas of App World seem to work fine (download an app, view screenshots, etc.) except read reviews?

I don't get it.

Not sure I've used app world when on wifi only, but I've used it with wifi on and the device set to wifi preferred. Also, as far as I know, there is no limitation on what blackberry services will function on wifi except that you must have a blackberry data plan.

My only other thought give the new information is try resending service books, and then test.

According to KB21648 on blackberry technical solution centre (entitled "Unable to read a review of an application using App World 1.1 when connected using Wi-Fi"), the problem is known and is caused by " This issue is caused by XML parsing failures in Wi-Fi environments."

The suggested work around is to disable WiFi.

Amazing since it all worked fine on the previous version of handheld software that I was running on last week (5.0.0.423). I guess I'll just have to remember to disable Wifi to read reviews.

I hate it when they release new software that breaks things that worked in earlier versions.

Thanks for your help.

Interesting. It does stink that it did work for you before.
