Default Getting email to go to the right place

Please Login to Remove!

I just installed Google Mobile App onto my Blackberry. Along with that, I installed Gmail.

I already had email coming to from my gmail account into one of the basic email folders. Now that I have gmail on my phone, I want to get rid of that basic folder and not have the little icon pop up when I have mail in that folder.

Bad idea or simple solution?

Are you talking about the default email folder?

Yes.

How can I bypass that?

The default messages folder cannot be deleted. Moving it may not be feasible because the messages count would still be displayed.

What is the point of loading gmail on a phone then? Can I change the email address of that default message folder or does it have to be correct email address?

And since we're here, can I put google calendar on my phone's desktop or does it have to stay in the google mobile app?

Thanks for the help...

The default email messages folder is the email address assigned to the Blackberry when first built.
Some carriers will ask what email address you have or assign one for you. You can try to call the carrier and see if they will allow a change but I would not bet on it. The additional email addresses are intended to allow BB users to have additional address beyond the primary address. You can also select the reply address when replying. Gmail , Hotmail and some others are not considered a primary address. Keep in mind the Blackberry is designed for business use.

If you don't want gmail email through native email push, remove the account from BIS.

Also, the messages app/folder is the catch-all folder for everything, SMS, MMS, email, phone, news feeds, browser push, BBM, and so forth, depending on your individual settings and what is enabled/disabled for the messages folder.

As mentioned above, you can move it or hide it, but not remove it. And you can delete your gmail from BIS.
