on my 8320 with the wifi version 1.04, I kept losing my wifi signal I put version 1.03 back to test whether it made a difference. Totally annoying while surfing the net and wifi disappears and Edge takes over. So far the wifi logo has remain lit with older version. Seems alot more stable.

Just a heads up to folks. I used to use the 8820 and found that if my bluetooth radio was on as well as my wifi radio that the wifi would drop off all the time. That is the main reason why I switched over to the 8310. I didn't really care about the wifi part, but I did use the GPS quite a bit.
I read that somewhere a while back, and immediatley shut off my bluetooth radio and stopped having the constant disconnects with my wifi.
So I figured if I couldn't have my bluetooth running 24/7 the wifi wasn't for me.....
Just an FYI....maybe you folks that have the wifi can test and see if leaving your bluetooth off makes a difference with stability of the wifi connection.

Oh, to be young again. I find myself reaching for my 1.50x reading glasses now, too. 1.25 used to be more than I needed.

ROGERS $15 plan and JIVE TALK
Just wondering if its even possible to use jivetalk with the $15 unlimited e-mail plan from rogers. I keep getting an Invalid url parameter error when I try to get a license key. I have changed my TCP settings, re-registered, and am still getting the same error...so I'm thinking maybe my plan doesn't include the type of data useage jivetalk needs?

Wirelessly posted (BB 8860: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)
If its just an email plan then, no, its not going to support JiveTalk. Sorry.

Well, I tried installing this 1.0.4 beta. Aside from the first time when I changed the preferences to 'WiFi preferred', it is not actually trying to use WiFi. It just uses the normal carrier network.

shut down jivetalk and open when your regular wifi logo is lit. Then open jivetalk and there should be a wifi logo on top right hand corner also lit up.

Again, other than the first time when I switched preferences to WiFi Preferred, it will not use the WiFi. I've already tried Force Shutdown and then re-starting it while I have a WiFi connection, yet it still does not use native WiFi -- it always uses an a "cellular" connection (in my case, it auto-configured itself for BIS). Something in the WiFi detection logic seems broken. FWIW, I'm using an 8320 with 4.2.2.180.

doesnt seem to work as expected. i turned off my mobile network (ATT) radio and just left wifi connected, and then went into jive talk, it told me that it could not connect to the carrier's data network. I had the preference set to 'wifi preferred'. However with the cell radio off, that preference doesnt even show up on the menu. I would like to be able to use wifi for jivetalk in place that I dont get a carrier signal, but there is a wifi hotspot. I hope this is fixed in the final release.

Hello,
I am trying the beta as well, one thing I noticed when signed into AIM via Jivetalk 1.0.4 is that in aim it creates a status message that says "on jivetalk", unless I make a completely different message it wont go away, is there anyway to get rid of this so its just no message there?
Thanks for any help, other then this it seems to be working great for me on and off of wifi

Prior to installing JiveTalk 1.0.4 beta, I never had problems with free memory slowly running down on my 8320. Typically would float around 14meg free, and at the worst get down to around 12meg free. Uptimes over over two weeks and still 12+meg free.
After installing JiveTalk, within about six days, my free memory was down to 2.5meg and I rebooted the 8320. Nothing else has been installed, and I'm otherwise not doing anything new or different on the BB except for leaving JiveTalk running. (And I don't even really use it to chat -- mainly just to monitor warning/alert messages generated by an IM bot that come in at most a couple per day, if at all.)

I noticed the same (i.e., unusually low memory). I just reverted to v1.0.3, and I will continue to monitor the memory status.
