Default Cannot view contact when dialing from home screen

Please Login to Remove!

This works on one BB9700 (5.0.0.330) and not on another newer BB9700 (5.0.0.344) and I am looking now for days to solve this...

I am typing the name of a contact from the home screen: say I want to verify his address.

When the contact name along with his phone numbers would show and the first number would be highlighted, I would then to scroll up one line to select the contact name, press MENU and then select VIEW CONTACT. (VIEW CONTACT would be listed just under VIEW SPEED DIAL LIST).

On the new BB9700 the VIEW CONTACT is not listed.

Anyone know how to correct this?

(sorry, wrong forum, I am now posting it to BB9700 forum, I do not know how to delete from here)

My own experience is that I see the "View Contact" choice when I highlight someone who is actually in the Call Log and press the BB Menu key, not by looking them up as you describe.

I am using a Curve 8330......

Amazing, the BB9700 with 5.0.0.330 was now upgraded to 5.0.0.586 and the functionality is gone. Very upsetting when you actually like something and then lose it, thank you RIM!

It is quite a useful feature I use(d) very often. Quickly search a name from the home screen and then get full contact details

Now its gone :(

Now I am solving this by switching off home screen dialing, now I need to type a for dialing from contacts. Old-fashioned and boring.

Or, just downgrade the OS to the one with the option.

right, I did not think of that.
I always upgrade automatically, believing it will fix issues...even issues I may not yet be aware of
