Default 8900 won't recieve from certain carriers

I've recently gotten an 8900 and have had loads of problems with it already. I ported my number from MTS to Rogers and at the beginning, right when I got it when MTS people tried to text me they received a text back saying "this number does not subscribe". This ended up fixing itself but now something similar is back. They can send my texts fine, I just don't recieve them. This seems to only be people on MTS. But i'm getting seriously frustrated with this phone. Anybody know? I've talked to Rogers and they don't know what to do.

Wirelessly posted (MY 8900)

I wish we could help. However, sms is entirely serviced by the carrier. Tell them that if they can't fix it, you are going back to mts and KEEPING the phone. Watch how fast they move their ass to keep the customer (you)

I'm allowed to do that? I'm thinking of asking if I should just hold off on paying my bill until it gets fixed because as far as I'm concerned I'm paying for service that I'm not getting.

This does seem like a carrier issue. I wouldn't withold paying your bill though. You will eventually only hurt yourself. Give them a call, and explain the situation. When they have resolved it for you, ask them how much of a credit they will give you for service you couldn't use.
