Default OS10 newbie question Homescreen keyboard shortcuts like 9900 OS7

Please Login to Remove!

Quick history, long time BB user over 10+ years, finally jumped to Classic and OS10.

On my 9900 i could quickly press m and get to my messages or "l" and get to calendar. Is there a way to do this on the OS10? Currently in order to get to calendar is have to hold down "L" for a second or two. Under shortcuts it shows the shortcut as Upper case L as opposed to OS7 and prior which was all lower case.

Is it possible to go back to lower case and quicker response like 9900?

thanks

I've noticed the slow response and the requirement to to hold the key just now myself after having upgraded my Passport to 10.3.1. My suspicion is that it is what it is. I don't see a way to do anything about it.

Thanks, I didn't think so either but wanted to confirm. Really a shame coming from 9900 to OS10 there are improvements but there are also some simple setbacks like these small delays. Will keep using it and hopefully get more familiar with it.

the delay is because of the assistant that wants to be used instead

I use Hub to get to calendar, just tap above the calendar entries to access it

I can see whats going on in hub anytime by swiping down from middle to bottom

Thanks, i guess i just need some getting used to this new OS.

On another note unlike my 9900 i could set the volume for level 1 messages. It doesn't appear to be the case anymore and the only work around i can think of is setting the volume for Normal profile low than all the other settings like email, phone, etc setting to override the profile volume. Seems a bit messy but i can't think of another way to do this.
