Default Best Overall Blackberry Service Provider + New Service Suggestions Needed

Please Login to Remove!

PLEASE EXCLUDE VOICE SERVICE FROM YOUR RESPONSE. Looking for BB service Experience ONLY! EXCLUDING PRICE AS WELL

LOCATED IN NYC
My cingular contract is up within a month, I am looking to get the 8700, I have not seen they offer it for tmobile. Recomendations as to which direction to take would be greatly appreciated. All I really use, BB weather (which I seem to get charged for by cingular) BB 411, Ramble IM (charged by cingular) and email. Voice is not important as I use Verizon for voice. Open to any suggestions, BIS, BES whatever.

Thanks

Michael

T-Mobile based on price, and inside the city I have had no real complaints. Sometimes the network slows for internet surfing but mail delivery is usually spot on.

verizon for being flat out reliable, esp in manhattan(where I am located). plus, they have a 24/7 line for their data support. their unlimited data is truly unlimited, as I can use any program that uses the internet for free. last month i used about 47 MB.

Based on my experience: Nextel, Verizon, T-Mobile and Cingular, in that order.

I'm basing this on how many times I have to call the provider with data provisioning issues. I have multiple clients with BES installs and phones on all of the above providers.

Cingular seems to break their Blackberries alot compared to the rest.

Verizon all the way, I have never had problems with Tech support, have always received prompt and proper care. True unlimited. true they charge more than others, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. I fortunately do not have the need to do international so I am fine with their coverage, the most I would be worried about was access from Puerto Rico and Verizon provides it.

I use T-mobile, the data service is great, the voice is fair. The best part is the roaming, I've been on four different continents with my personal data lifeline; the sucker logs on in no time, messages get through and the bill from t-mobile has never been that bad. Of course, I'm positive on T-mobile because I haven't called the CC recently. T-mobile's customer care sucks. I guess that's where they save the money. Once you get through to the BB people, the service is good, but the gauntlet you have to go through to to get to them? Ridiculous.

It doesn't do much good to ask us here. You need to find out how the service is where you live, work and travel and where you will use the various BB features.

In the New England area where I live and spend most of my travels, both Cingular and Verizon are good. Sprint and T-Mobile, outside of the big cities and off the interstates (I-95 for example) isn't very reliable. Although there are some areas such as Wells/Ogunquit ME where Sprint is the best.

You just need to look at where you are and where you travel and check the coverage there.

Just my 3 cents.

Nextel has never done me wrong, plus the direct connect is the the best! Out of 1000 minutes I use roughly about 200-300 cause everyone I know is has a DC number.
